Specifications The design of Hummerfish Boats is flexible but the shipyard avoids building them with an after-cabin since their sea-going qualities then, due to the weight distribution, will not be as good. Measures The length of the hull is 7.5 m. With a bathing-platform and an extended bow the total length is around 9 m. The overall width is 2.6 m, deep-going is 0.4 m without and 0.75 m with the engine rack. The weight is roughly 6 800 pounds. Hummerfish Boats are produced from salt water resistant aluminium. The material is sandblasted in order to keep a non-skid surface on deck. This also holds to all mountings and railings. The thickness off the hull is 5 mm, and of the deckhouse 4 mm. All horizontal surfaces are covered with checker plate. The windows are made of 5 mm toughened glass. The bottom construction is a moderate V-bottom with foils. The grade deadrise is 15-20 in the stern, continuously changing to 66 in the stem. This results in excellent sea-going qualities. Hummerfish Boats have no planning step - they move gracefully also at high speed and in heavy sea. With the most common choice of engine, 250-300 hp petrol or diesel, the speed range is 35-40 knots, and cruising speed is 25-30 nots.

Hummerfish All Hummerfish Boats are hand-made according to the customers order - measures and data are, because of this, approximations. Interior Hummerfish Boats are carefully isolated against external sounds and heat. In cabin and sleeping bunks the isolation in ceiling, walls and bunk-bottoms is 30 mm thick. The bunks have 100 mm thick cushions. Hevy duty kompressor seats in cabin. Different design solutions to order. Equipment Electric system with two battery systems. Hydraulic steering. Electronic engine control. 9 KW heating system, defrosters, search light, work lights, Simrad radar, echo sounder and DGPS-plotter. Connection for external power supply with battery charger. Automatic fire extinguishing system for engine room. Engine Hummerfish Boats are delivered with different engines: outboard or inboard, diesel or petrol. However, our suggestion is an inboard engine with 250-300 hp and"Bravo Three" sterndrive (two contra-rotating stainless steel propellers). Hummerfish Boats are constructed and designed by Kristoffer Bielanski, who is also responsible for the production. He has for more than 15 years specialized on the design, repair, remake and making of boats in aluminium and stainless steel. It takes the shipyard approximately three month to make a Hummerfish Boat. The basic price for a boat, engine included, is circa 80 000 €, VAT not included. |
